Woods Hole Foundation
Grants of up to $3,000 to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations to benefit Woods Hole and Falmouth area communities. Applications are invited for projects that improve or enhance the quality of life for local residents, as well as the unique character of the local community.
Since 1979, the focus of grants made by the Woods Hole Foundation has evolved to match community needs. Grants have ranged from preservation of buildings used by area nonprofits, to operating funds for local service organizations.
Preference will be given to proposals with a specific project in mind, however requests for general program support will be considered.
Requests for capital improvements to buildings used by area nonprofits will be considered. Special consideration will be given to buildings of historical significance that add to the character of the community.
Applications for projects involving the cooperation between community organizations are encouraged.
Consideration will be given to the number of people who benefit from the activities of the requesting organization.

In general, grants range from a few hundred to around three thousand dollars.
Applicants must be public entities or local nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under the provisions of the IRS code, Section 501(c)(3).
Preference is given to organizations serving primarily the Woods Hole/Falmouth area.
Previous grant recipients are eligible to re-apply, however a report on how the last award was utilized must be included in the application.
The Woods Hole Foundation accepts grant proposals beginning January 1. Completed applications must be received no later than March 31. The Foundation only accepts applications electronically.
