Grants of $1,000 and in-kind grants valued at $200 to USA public, charter, and private K-12 schools to support the creation or expansion of school garden programs. Grant recipients will receive tools, educational materials, and funds for the purchase of supplies and materials. Eligible applicants are schools that can demonstrate at least 40% of their student body would qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

The Klorane Botanical Foundation is committed to supporting programs to teach respect for the environment and protect nature through the preservation of plant species and biodiversity. Designed to further their mission, the Budding Botanist Grant will help the youngest citizens learn about plants, explore their world and inspire them to take care of the life they discover in their local ecosystems.
Applicants must be planning a new or expanding an existing school garden program designed to teach students about environmental sustainability and the importance of biodiversity. Given the limitations posed by distance and hybrid learning options, applications that propose projects focused on the creation of virtual garden-based learning opportunities or take-home gardening kits to better serve students engaged in remote learning are also encouraged and accepted.
