Grants of up to $25,000 to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations to address urgent community needs in eligible regions. Funding is intended to increase the capacity of community organizations to meet the basic needs of residents who have been impacted by COVID-19. This fund supports organizations within Berkshire County.

A coalition of philanthropy and business partners has joined together to create a COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund that will rapidly deploy resources to community-based organizations at the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak in Berkshire County. COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund for Berkshire County has launched to provide flexible resources to organizations in the region working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak. Grants will help fund frontline human services organizations that have deep roots in the community and strong experience working with vulnerable populations. These operating grants are designed to address gaps in services and increase capacity of organizations to meet basic needs of individuals and families.

These grants will address the needs of Berkshire County’s most vulnerable individuals and families that have been exacerbated due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund will prioritize organizations serving Berkshire County in these areas:

  • Improving access to food for children and youth,
  • Increased demand for early childcare and after school programming,
  • Increased demand for services for the elderly,
  • Increased support for the homeless population,
  • Increased demand for medical services for uninsured or undocumented individuals.
