Deadline Date:

Description:

Request a Grant Writer

Grants of $500 to Massachusetts individual artists to participate in a neighborhood beautification project in eligible locations. Funding is intended to allow local artists to contribute to the public art environment by painting utility boxes with original artwork. The goal of the program is to contribute to the vitality of the urban streetscape in Boston. Artists may submit up to three designs.

The City has identified appropriate utility boxes for use in this program. Artists can select a first and second choice for neighborhood location, and the City will do its best to assign a box that fits with the applicant's desired location. Artists need to supply their own materials, tools, and water while painting. For information about design requirements, see the Guidelines on the URL for Full Text, below.

In accordance with COVID-19 public health guidance, additional safety guidelines will be provided to artists selected for this program.
