Grants to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals in eligible locations to promote equity and inclusion. The purpose of this program is to ensure that underrepresented and marginalized groups and individuals may participate in community events celebrating Worcester's Tercentennial.

As the upcoming celebration of Worcester’s Tercentennial approached, the Foundation is committed to promoting equity and inclusion at the events. For the planned activities to be fully sincere, authentic, diverse, multi-dimensional experiences, the Foundation believes all perspectives, voices, and lived experiences must be welcomed, embraced, and spotlighted.

To this end, the Foundation has committed funds for Inclusion Grants for Tercentennial participation. These grants aim to facilitate the inclusion of underrepresented and/or marginalized groups in both the Parade and the Festival for whom participation might be cost-prohibitive.

Funds will be awarded based on two criteria:

  • Primary criteria: Inclusion of community groups or individuals whose participation will offer underrepresented experiences, perspectives and voices – including those who identify as Black, Indigenous, Persons of Color, LGBTQIA+, refugee, immigrant or persons living with a disability.
  • Secondary criteria: Inclusion of community groups or individuals for whom participation is cost-prohibitive without foundation support.
